memory of the night you did not come home, 2022

Inspired by the idea of recording and compressing memories for the future, “𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝟑𝟖𝟒 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬” is a single-channel silent video wherein flowers, similar to the ones I can recall from my grandmother’s time in the hospital before she passed away, were gathered and frozen. They were eventually melted to give an impression of memories integrating into different parts of consciousness, as if melting and fading into different periods of our lives — every choice we make and thinking we do, mixing up the sequence and altering each frame.
